For the White Night, the great Daniel Buren will come to the Eiffel Tower for a painting of Paris visible on Saturday October 5, 2019.

Daniel Buren is coming to Paris for the White Night 2019 as he’s invited by Didier Fusillier to have fun with the Eiffel Tower. For this night celebrating art in Paris, two large and tilted mirrors around the Eiffel Tower will reflect the surrounding buildings, as if they were about to fall. For the artist, it’s the occasion to depict a moving and temporary Paris.

We owe him the Colonnes du Palais Royal, as well as the strange (now disappeared) colorful façade of the Louis Vuitton Foundation and the big sphere of the Grand Palais during the Monumenta event.

Note that the Eiffel Tower is currently celebrating its 130th anniversary with a free exhibition in front of it. Covering 300sqm, this exhibition provides never-seen-before and modern experiences: for instance, carefully walking on screens put on the floor and reproducing the beams, we feel like walking above the ground and we put on the shoes of the workers on this spectacular worksite! This exhibition is the occasion to find out why the tower is shaped like this, why wrought iron was used and how the Tower has been built so quickly.
