Arabofolies 2024: the music festival returns to the IMA for a crazy edition

It's party time at the Institut du Monde Arabe: the Arabofolies festival, which showcases contemporary music by Arab artists, is back from June 13 to 20, 2024 for another edition as wild as ever.

The Arab world is big, and home to many artists who are still unknown in France. If only it were possible to discover these creators without leaving Paris... Fortunately, theInstitut du Monde Arabe is there to put the spotlight on these artists!

With Arabofolies, the IMA puts the spotlight on contemporary singers and musicians from the Arab world. This annual festival is an opportunity to have fun, dance and sing along to an eclectic and original program, which changes every year to bring more and more new artists to the fore. For lovers of Arab music and culture, it's a chance to broaden your horizons and make some great musical discoveries, while partying with friends in Paris.

    Bénarès and Slim Ben Ammar

    Composed of guitarist Brice Bertet, singer Sané Bakari and bassist Pierre Delaup, the Paris-based trio Bénarès is a veritable meeting point between France and Tunisia, Tunisian folklore and pop. Singer Slim Ben Ammar follows in the footsteps of Henri Tibi, a Judeo-Arab singer of Tunisian origin and an emblematic figure of La Goulette.

    Ÿuma and Kohhen El Kef

    The young Tunisian duo Sabrine Jenhani (vocals) and Ramy Zoghelmi (vocals and guitar) play a fusion of rock, folk and blues. Both project and character, Kohhen El Kef is a bridge between the poetic Arabia of yesteryear and the Berber visual, poetic and sonic landscape of North Africa.

    The Sabîl duo invites Vincent Ségal

    Variations on space and time, the new opus by the Palestinian duo Sabîl, made up of percussionist Youssef Hbeisch and oudist Ahmad Al Khatib, celebrates its encounter with the most iconoclastic of cellists: Vincent Ségal.

    Mohamed Abderrachid Seguini - Modes constantinois

    Instrumentalist, conductor, the Constantinois Mohamed Abderrachid Seguini masters the Constantinois malouf as well as the Aissaoua genre. He infuses his art with an infectious enthusiasm that literally sets the audience on fire!

    Yara Lapidus - Oriented

    Yara Lapidus creates seismic shocks, fusing seemingly discordant lands such as traditional Arabic music and Western pop, and daring to move back and forth between jazz, indie rock, chanson, bossa and Mediterranean escapism.

    Interzone - Serge Teyssot-Gay and Khaled AlJaramani
    Tarifs : 20 € [plein] / 16 € [r] / 12 € [-26 ans]
    Serge Teyssot-Gay and Khaled AlJaramani compose music that is meditative and melancholy, nostalgic and dreamy, but also serene and comforting. Les Arabofolies are delighted to welcome this inspired duo to celebrate their 20th anniversary and the release of their latest album, due out in May 2024.
