Built as part of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Adidas Arena was officially inaugurated on February 11, 2024. We tell you more about this huge new cultural and sporting venue in the north of the capital.

After months of construction work, the Adidas Arena has finally opened its doors to spectators eager to discover this new multi-purpose venue, dedicated not only to shows and concerts, but also and of course to sporting events. The official inauguration of this new Parisian complex, described as a " benchmark venue for urban cultures where music, sport, culture and lifestyle meet for all ", took place on February 11, 2024.

Located to the north of Paris, near Porte de la Chapelle, theAdidas Arena was originally designed to host the badminton and rhythmic gymnastics events of the Olympic Games, as well as the para badminton and para weightlifting events of the Paralympic Games. In fact, it is the only venue for the Paris 2024 Games to be built in the capital!

With a seating capacity of around 8,000 for sporting events and 9,000 for concerts, the Adidas Arena looks set to make its mark in the small world of venues and complexes dedicated to cultural and sporting events in Paris, alongside theAccor Arena and Paris La Défense Arena in particular.

So, what exactly can we expect? For sports fans, the Adidas Arena will focus on basketball. In fact, the Parisian stadium will become the home of the Paris Basketball club. Created in 2018, this club embodies " one of the key facets of Parisian urban lifestyle ", explains the venue on its website, which specifies that 35 annual matches pitting Paris Basketball against other teams are planned. The inauguration of theAdidas Arena on February 11 featured a great showdown between Paris Basketball and the Saint-Quentin club.

Many other sports are scheduled to take place at the Adidas Arena this year, including badminton, skateboarding, street soccer, martial arts and KSW fighting. Handball and volleyball should follow. All these high-level sports are set to boost the development of the Adidas Arena in the north of Paris over the coming months and years.

But the new Parisian venue also intends to open its doors to other national and international artists, evolving in different styles. Symphonic metal band Within Temptation and French artist Hoshi are also confirmed for 2024 at theAdidas Arena.

Another plus point? The venue is easily accessible by public transport, located just a few metres from Porte de la Chapelle station (metro line 12).

Over the next few months, the Adidas Arena is set to establish itself in Paris as a veritable living space, with 3,000m² dedicated to entertainment and sporting and cultural activities. Come and discover this new cultural and sports complex in the north of Paris!

The esplanade in front of theAdidas Arena will be named Alice Milliat, in tribute to this pioneer of women's sports.
