The Palace of Versailles makes the best of the summer 2020 to make us relive the majestic parties of Versailles, the 21st century way. For one hour, at nightfall, buckle up because you'll luve a big visual experience telling Marie-Antoinette’s story with performers, dancers, water effects, fire effets and fireworks.
For the third time in a row, the Palace of Versailles provides this light and sound show: we have to say tickets go really fast. Four dates are scheduled, so hurry up and book your Thursday July 2, Friday 3, Thursday 9 and Friday 10, 2020 in the Orangerie gardens.
At night fall, at 10 p.m., the Orangerie de Versailles will be sparkling. For one hour, you're immersed in the daily life of king Louis XVI's wife, Marie-Antoinette, an unforgettable and historic character. In the dark, discover the different moments of the queen's life through lit characters, some being on fire. Careful, though, this is no play nor an opera, because characters are not speaking, the story is told by Stéphane Bern...
Flames, fireworks, video mapping accompany the lit characters. The show comes to an end with an "unforgettable pyrotechnic finale like only Groupe F can provide", to amaze you!
You have to know this queen has a really interesting story: she married Louis XVI very young, and Marie-Antoinette has been entrusted with the Court's entertaining. The Queen will then host plays two to three times a week and will show her love for games of card and pool she practices in the Salon de la Paix.
We attended the show in 2019 and this is how it looked:
