This winter and spring, get ready to discover Saint-Eustache church as you've never seen it before! From February 16 to May 25, 2024, the famous edifice nestled in the capital's 1st arrondissement opens its doors to the incredible "Luminiscence" experience. On the program? An immersive theatrical tour followed by a magnificent 360-degree sound and light show recounting the history of this famous Parisian landmark, which celebrates its 800th anniversary this year.

A must-see building in the heart of Paris's Les Halles district, the Saint-Eustache church opens its doors every year to a wide variety of cultural events, from concerts for the Fête de la Musique to art installations for the Nuit Blanche.

While the Saint-Eustache church recently hosted a free monumental work of light, this winter and spring the building unveils an immersive event, both visual and aural. A true journey back in time, the experience is likely to attract many curious onlookers!

Called " Luminiscence " , this immersive, multisensory experience is to be discovered from February 16 to May 25, 2024 , to mark the 800th anniversary of the famous Parisian parish.

Thanks to cutting-edge technology and 3D modeling expertise " meticulously documenting every architectural element ", each performance of the show offered in the nave - lasting around 40 minutes - plunges spectators into the best-kept secrets of the Saint-Eustache church. While 360° video projections sublimate the architectural beauty of the site and Saint-Eustache's stained-glass windows, the soundtrack, spatialized in 3D, is in total synchronization with the magnificent visuals projected.

So, what exactly can we expect? The seated experience begins with the arrival of a monk, dressed all in black and hooded. Lantern in hand, he walks slowly down the aisle of the nave towards the choir. He is the guardian of the site and will tell us the incredible story of the edifice he has been protecting for 800 years.

Cleverly blending historical narration with sound and light projections, the show transports us back in time. The 360-degree lighting effects are sublime, and the soundtrack only accentuates the emotion felt during these 40 minutes of immersion.

Several sequences punctuate the " Luminiscence " show, starting with the section revealing the secrets of the construction process of the iconic Parisian church, which, let's not forget, spanned more than a hundred years. As white lines - symbolizing the construction of the monument - run through the building, stonemasons appear on the columns.

The experience continues with the famous stained glass windows and lighting effects, while the exceptional acoustics of the site are also highlighted. Blues, reds, oranges, yellows... the colors are a feast for the eyes, taking possession of the whole building and sublimating the Saint-Eustache church in masterly fashion. The poetic finale invites us to lift our heads a little higher, transporting us into the cosmos. Grandiose and magnificent, the " Luminiscence " show lives up to its promise, offering us a truly " timeless " experience!

A word of advice: the best (and most expensive) seats for this sound and light show are at the back of the church, beneath the building's imposing organ.

To complete the " Luminiscence " experience, the event also features an immersive theatrical stroll through the Church of Saint-Eustache just before the show. For 15 minutes or so, you'll meet the illustrious figures who have shaped the history of the building, including Molière, Lully (Louis XIV's composer), Le Mercier (the King's first architect) and the Queen of Hungary.

The icing on the cake is the announcement of several exclusive evenings featuring an ensemble of musicians and choristers, notably on March 8 and 9, under the baton of conductor Alexis Duffaure, and on March 15, 16 and 22, under the baton of conductor Bertrand Causse.
