Martin Parr takes us on a journey to Ireland, to meet its landscapes and its people. Visit the Centre Culturel Irlandais, from November 11, 2022 to January 8, 2023, to discover Martin Parr's Ireland.

Martin Parr is one of the giants of photography, known for the way he captures the daily lives of his subjects, and sublimates them through his eye. His distinctive style makes him a documentary photographer, telling the story of the people he meets and the countries he visits.

The British artist has long worked in Ireland. He photographed the country from every angle, from 1979 to 2019. This long series of photos is on show at the Centre Culturel Irlandais, from November 11, 2022 to January 8, 2023, in the free exhibition Martin Parr's Ireland.

From the Pope's visit to Brexit, via popular balls, summers on the beach, major sports matches and the slow Americanization of society, the country's entiremodern and banalhistory is laid out before our eyes. In these little moments captured on the spot, a piece of life is displayed and immortalized.

As the exhibition progresses, the images shift from black and white to color, oscillating between historical narrative and a humorous look at an Ireland full of surprises.

With elegance and restraint, the artist immerses himself in the everyday life of the Irish, peering into homes, trains, restaurants, gatherings... He discovers a form of beauty that he captures and shares with us, giving us the impression of traveling alongside him, crossing more than 40 years in a single stroll.

To take part in this wonderful adventure, head for the Centre Culturel Irlandais!
