European Heritage Days 2017 at Paris Philharmonie

On Saturday September 16 and Sunday September 17, 2017, Paris Philharmonie, the new Cité de la Musique, takes part in European Heritage Days. On the menu, free visit of the Musée de la Musique, mini concerts, tales and workshops for music lovers of all ages!

On European Heritage Days 2017, focused on young people, the Philharmonie de Paris offers a weekend full of free animations.

Inaugurated on January 14, 2015, the new Cité de la Musique is groundbreaking building preserving our heritage for future generations. Thought up by Jean Nouvel to host the new Orchestre de Paris, music workshops and the Musée de la Musique, the building is a beautiful work which has its place in French heritage.

Program of the European Heritage Days 2017 at the Philharmonie de Paris:

  • Visit of the Musée de la Musique: Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
    Come and discover the Musée de la Musique and its 7,000 instruments for a travel through the world of music.

  • Body, voice, music instruments workshop: Saturday and Sunday from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
    For curious children and adults, a musical moment to share with everybody is offered and held like a participative workshop to play together with music instruments, to use your body as drums and to sing.

  • The clarinet across the world and through the centuries: Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
    The story of the clarinet, from Mozart to New-Orleans, or the story of how it manages to get used to the musical forms of geographical and time milestones of the world, with Jaafar Aggiouri.

  • How the world became the world, Saturday from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
    “Do not touch it! Not before you are on Earth”, The first man, Téré, was too curious about this object of wood and skin to obey the divine word. Slowly, he reached for the object. First, he brushed it. Then, he became more daring… when he heard the first sound, its pleasure was without boundaries. So, he did it again…

  • Trip to the cello country, Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
    The cello is an old man but with a young soul! From its birth in the baroque Italy via Bach’s Suites and the famous Carnival of the Animals, the Swan, discover the story and the repertoire of the cello with Magali Boyer.

  • Tale, La fête de Moussa, Sunday from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
    A young girl tries by any means to join the party of Prince Moussa. But incredible obstacles stand between her and the party. Is the call of the party that strong?
