In Versailles Bastille Day has become an unmissable event. The evening starts at 9 p.m. at the marketplace with the firemen's dance, before letting off the firework on the parade ground.
However since 2017, the city hall after deciding to call off the celebration explains that following dramatic events arose during gatherings, the firework facing the Palace has been cancelled this year.
To enjoy the party, you will have to go to another city or you will have to go to the firemen's ball that returns to Versailles after 40 years of absence! The city's firemen will welcome inhabitants for a party. The benefits of the party will be donated to the Oeuvre des Pupilles des sapeurs-pompiers (access for €15, including the admission ticket + a drink + a gift, free for people under 16 years old).
And for those who really want to attend a firework show, Groupe F has been invited by the Palace of Versailles for a magical show, Marie-Antoinette, performed on Thursday July 4, Friday 5, Thursday 11 and Friday 12, 2019 in the Jardins de l'Orangerie. A feast for the eyes!
