Château de Vaux le Vicomte bends over backwards again to offer families an exceptional Easter weekend. An aglow castle, wonderful landscaped garden, giant egg hunts and playful workshops for kids, here’s the cocktail likely to delight children and their parents.
So, what does this year’s program have in store?
First things first, save the date, Easter weekend is on Saturday April 12, Sunday 13 and Monday 14, 2020. Celebrations start at 10 a.m. at the château. This year, for Easter, Vaux le Vicomte invites you to find in its French formal garden the eggs hidden by the chateau's little squirrels for the biggest Easter egg hunt in France.
In turns, children will have to face up playful and participative challenge with Jean de La Fontaine, Vatel and even Charles Le Brun to validate their participation. Once you they made it, they can access to the famous and final Easter egg hunt that will be full of chocolate promises for participants.
Of course, to give all participants their chances according to their skills, adventure tours, sporting or playful, they are grouped by age so that everyone can join in.
All along the two children egg races (0-6 years and 7-11 years), golden chicks are hidden in the gardens: find them and win a pop-up book (1 golden chick per hunt, every 30 minutes).
For the first time this year, teenagers (12-18) can discover a hunt fit to their ages created as an orienteering in the estate's copses! Makeup, pony rides and chocolate sculpture exhibit can be expected to perfect this family outing.
Competitions mixing rapidity and dexterity and skills expect children in the 33-hectare French formal gardens by Le Nôtre. Children can go and look for the squirrels' storage and find the Léonidas chocolate treasure.
But at Vaux le Vicomte, children are not the only ones entitled to an Egg Hunt. Adults have their own hunt to fulfill their chocolate needs. Speaking of good deals, the speediest and craftiest those who find the famous golden egg will win tickets for a wonderful Candlelit Evening at the château! (2 tickets at each Adult Egg Hunt / 7 Hunts per day)
To keep things interesting, this year, the Sun King invites himself to a giant game of Red Light/Green Light since in French, the game is known as "Un, deux, trois, soleil" (soleil meaning sun), forcing participants to stay still when the Sun looks at them!
But that’s not all, animations and exhibitions await you at the Château as well. Have a look at the exhibition of wonderful chocolate sculpture, the Easter table laid out and decorated by Villeroy & Boch and take part in riddles shaking up your sense of smell in the State Apartments.
Let’s not forget that kids can have their faces painted for free and we all know they love it. And we make the best of the day to have a pony ride in the gardens (with a supplement), it’s amazing.
And new this year: 32 golden hazelnuts allowing to win a cuddle toy from Doudou et Compagnie are hidden every day in the park and from April 4 to 19, 2020.
And if you're not free on Easter weekend, entertainments are hosted all Spring Break long!
