The Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte egg hunt is one of the most popular egg hunts in the Paris region, and one not to be missed every year! Over the Easter weekend, teams from the privately-owned château go to great lengths to entertain the little ones and challenge the grown-ups with thousands of chocolates hidden in the 33-hectare landscaped garden.
This year, the Easter festivities are scheduled for Saturday, April 4, Sunday, April 5, and Monday, April 6, 2026, with continuous egg hunts starting from 10 a.m. at Vaux-le-Vicomte. Visitors will need to gather a first stamp to join the renowned eggs hunt. To keep the peace and prevent disappointment, multiple hunts are organized simultaneously, tailored to different age groups. There’s a special area for children aged 1 to 5 in the vegetable garden, and another for kids aged 6 to 12, who can search for eggs in the surrounding woods.
For the older kids, an egg hunt is also organized for teens aged over 11: last year, they had a slightly more challenging version, featuring a treasure hunt and a puzzle to decipher the secret of Vatel’s mysterious recipe, all in the quest to win the King’s delicious bounty. As for the adults, they weren’t left out — they also had their own egg hunt! Those lucky enough to find the hidden golden squirrel around the estate could take home a special prize…
Competitions for teenagers and adults combine speed, dexterity and skill. For the little ones, it's all about exploration. To avoid disappointment, and emphasize family fun, the château offers chocolates to all participants in these egg hunts.
Throughout the day, a variety of creative activities will be available, along with horse-drawn carriage rides. Kids will also have the chance to enjoy free face painting.
