It is the most awaited family festival in Western Paris, every year in June. The Family Festival brings together the Fondation Louis Vuitton and the Jardin d'Acclimatation to offer a weekend full of fun, sports, but also cultural and creative activities.
On the program? Creative workshops, sports, concerts, visits specially designed for young people, shows... During this weekend of June 17 and 18, 2023, it's time for experimentation, discovery and exploration, for the little ones as well as the older ones, and above all, as a family.
At the Fondation Louis Vuitton, it's an opportunity to discover the temporary exhibition of the moment, Basquiat x Warhol, four hands with children, through storytelling and musical visits, with the help of the Foundation's baby trail, games and many creative workshops for children aged 0 to 12.
At the Jardin d'Acclimatation, the attractions are a little more fun, with an 8-meter high climbing rock installed especially for the occasion, acroyoga sessions... Not forgetting the shows and concerts, mixing music, dance, theater and brass band, presented in the Garden or in the Foundation. This year, for the first time, a collaborative fresco created by the artist Bault offers children from 6 to 12 years to participate throughout the weekend.
To eat on site, foodtrucks will be serving you all day long, all weekend long: Neapolitan pizzas and other dishes to eat on the go are on the menu! So, let's go to the Jardin d'Acclimatation and the Fondation Louis Vuitton this weekend of June 17 and 18, 2023?
Workshops 0-2 years old
The artist Claude Como invites babies and parents into her world of tufted wool! She proposes to find families of plants by associating shapes, to play with the sun while exploring nature; to discover very small countries while traveling in large landscapes. And above all to take the time to manipulate, to feel and to taste the softness of these new textures.
This device, composed of a repertoire of silk-screened foam shapes, invites babies and parents to play at ground level! The only rule is to remain lying down, babies and parents assemble arms, heads, legs, ... to compose bodies like mountains.
Workshops 4-12 years
Everything starts with an observation of what surrounds us, the nature of its forms, its colors, its textures. The workshop, conceived and animated by the designer Flora Koel, encourages to explore, make, experiment, manipulate, test the natural materials of the Jardin d'Acclimatation. With few tools and simple assembly techniques, children divert elements of nature to create their own wreath, in tribute to Jean-Michel Basquiat.
Workshops 6-12 years old
Using the Family Festival characters, children are introduced to the silk-screening technique and create their own festival poster!
Like Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol at the Factory, children experiment with the techniques of both artists and create a unique creation with the funny characters of the artist Bault!
Family workshop
A workshop to observe the glass sails designed by Frank Gehry, architect of the Foundation, and play with the wind.
With the pianist and composer CHASSOL, plunge into the universe of artists Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol. In Gallery 4, inspired by the places and works that surround him, alone at the piano, the musician will improvise and exchange with the public.
How to introduce art to your baby? Gently and through the senses, guided by a cultural mediator! Enjoy this intimate and warm moment among the works created by four hands by artists Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol.
Children and parents follow Jean-Michel and Andy in the New York of the 1980's and discover their universe punctuated with crocodiles, African masks, logos, bananas, crowns.... Guided by a cultural mediator, children learn to decipher the works in the exhibition "Basquiat X Warhol, à quatre mains" while having fun!
Through rhymes and rhymes, children and parents follow the adventures of a little hawk flying over the Foundation in search of the building's amazing secrets. As the story unfolds, children meet with the elements of nature that inhabit the site - wind, seeds, sun, water - and that will allow them to unravel the mysteries of this enchanted architecture.
A cultural mediator guides you through the exhibition "Basquiat x Warhol, à quatre mains" and offers families a joyful and playful discovery of a selection of works by the two artists that are among the largest they have ever completed, and sometimes also among the most astonishing.
This sensory experience, adapted for children, offers an interactive and joyful escape in the exhibition "Basquiat x Warhol, à quatre mains"! A cultural mediator from the Foundation and a meditation teacher invite introspection and observation to vibrate in front of the monumental works created jointly by the artists Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol.
Balance, space, forces, tensions, colors, transparency are some of the concepts that will help you discover the secrets of Frank Gehry's architecture!
With the help of a card game, discover the secrets and hidden objects of the work "Where the slaves live" by Adrian Villar Rojas. This work, a real living object, allows you to approach the themes of ecology and the relationship with nature.
The composer and pianist Chassol presents a selection of pieces from his "Ultrascores", musical journeys to the United States with Nola Chérie, to India with Indiamore, to Martinique with Big Sun and to Japan, with his latest work, Ludi, freely inspired by Hermann Hesse's The Game of Glass Beads. He will also play, accompanied by his brilliant drummer, his new piece "CHASSOL plays BASQUIAT".
The show is an adventure of perception/sensory, addressed to young children. A duo of dancers immersed in a moving scenography, toddlers placed at the edge of this installation and the bewitching and hypnotic musical universe of Ravel's Bolero: Le Petit B is a true sensory experience. A mesmerizing and hypnotic musical universe of the singer Johanna Luz and the musician Vincent Barrau, whose first inspiration is Ravel's Bolero.
TypoTypex is a graphic and poetic journey through the letters of the poem "Voyelles" by Arthur Rimbaud. Between concerto and projection drawing, Mathieu Harlaud's show questions words in music. At the center of this creation, we find the pianist and composer CHAMBERLAIN and the studio Chevalvert for the illustration.
The Trailblazers brass band, the "Fabrique Orchestrale Junior" of Aulnay-sous-Bois, wanders through the Foundation and then performs on stage on the Miroir vert!
