As part of the free family weekends organized by Paris Musées, on Saturday April 27 and Sunday April 28, 2024 admission to the Musée d'Art Moderne is not only free for the whole family, but there's a whole program in store for young and old alike during this culturally-focused weekend.
What's on the program? Storytelling tours, creative workshops to learn about the plastic arts, a sensory guided tour of the Musée d'Art Moderne for the whole family, a kid-friendly yoga session in front of the works of art... For this family weekend at the Musée d'Art Moderne, sport dominates the program on the occasion of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It's up to you to discover how art and sport are linked within the museum!
As you can see, this weekend of April 27 and 28 is not only a great way to visit a museum with the whole family without spending a penny, but above all, it's an opportunity to discover the wonderful playful, poetic and artistic animations, to fill young and old with wonder during these two exceptional days.
Sporty little artists
Parents and children take part in the tour, taking up the postures of sportsmen and women depicted in works such as Robert Delaunay's L'Equipe de Cardiff. In the workshop, participants start with an artistic warm-up in which they explore different movements, then quickly sketch out gestures, letting the pencil follow the rhythm of their imaginations!
Shared stories
Clotilde Lebas tells stories for young and old, with a desire to suspend time. She particularly enjoys working in museums, where stories and works of art resonate. Stories that unfold in front of paintings (Matisse's La Danse, Delaunay's L'équipe de Cardiff...) that take on a whole new meaning before your very eyes.
Yoga and artworks
A family Iyengar yoga session in front of Henri Matisse's La danse .
Hip-hop dance visit
Come and discover the museum's collections with your family through an active hip-hop dance tour.
Hand-hop - Scopitone & Cie
Hand Hop is a call to seize the freedom to dance wherever we please, an invitation to continuous movement in the face of imposed rules and norms. Based on a frantic chase between authority and casualness, Hand Hop aims to give back to the street its contagious energy, alive with the power of gathering, bodies and music. An allusion to the first Hip Hop clips, combined with a nod to Tex Avery, to celebrate Street Dance, which is now a fixture of the contemporary choreographic landscape and a victory over public space.
