La fête du muscle, a weekend of sports activities for children, at the Louvre Museum

To coincide with the opening of the newOlympism exhibition on April 24, 2024, the Musée du Louvre is organizing a big weekend of free events for children, to be discovered on April 27 and 28, 2024!

With the imminent arrival of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, many museums are offering never-before-seen exhibitions dedicated to this mythical sporting competition, which has its origins in antiquity. At the Musée du Louvre, you can discover Olympism: a modern invention, an ancient heritage with your family, but above all, discover this culture of sport during the Fête du muscle, a kid-friendly weekend packed with activities!

What's on the program? Families can enjoy mni-visits, creative workshops, performances and other demonstrations in the museum's galleries, in the Studio, the Louvre's children's area, and in the Jardin des Tuileries.

In the Studio

• Introduction to breaking, from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., free admission
• Calligram ( poetry)workshop, 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., free admission
• Introduction to improvisational theater, 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., free admission
• Sculpture workshop to create your own Frisbee, 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm, free admission

In the museum halls

• Battle de breaking by professional dancers, every hour from 2pm to 5pm in the Cour Puget
• Collective calligraphy, from 1.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. in the Cour Puget, free admission
• Improv theater match, at 2:30pm, 3:30pm and 4:30pm, in the courtyard of Khorsabad, free admission
• Strike a pose (an artist will create a minute sketch), from 1:30pm to 5:39pm, cour Puget, free admission
• Mini-visits, all weekend long at 2:30 pm, 3:30 pm, 3 pm, 3:30 pm, in the Olympism exhibition.
• Post mediation, from 1.30pm to 5.30pm, free access

In the Jardin des Tuileries

• Inter-museum play activity as part of the Cultural Olympiad between museums, free and autonomous access.

In the Studio, thechildren's area of the Musée du Louvre, you can also discover a wide range of free-access games: memory, archery, table soccer, golf... If you'd like to join the whole family at the Fête du Muscle 2024, all the activities are free of charge and open to all. All you have to do is buy your admission ticket to the Musée du Louvre, which costs €22 full price (under 15s are free). Happy Muscle Day to all!
