8 billion: as of November 2022, this is the number of human beings on the planet. Beyond the vertigo it may arouse, it invites us to reflect on its future and its consequences. Is it doomed to perpetual growth? What are the forecasts for its evolution? How will it influence our societies?
To answer these questions, the Cité des sciences et de l'industrie, as part of its Science Actualités program, has teamed up with Ined's scientific advisory board to create an exhibition devoted to the evolution of the world's population. The exhibition was on show for six months at the Cité des sciences et de l'industrie. From September 22 to November 10, it will be on display at the Humathèque on the Condorcet Campus.
The installation features four thematic panels, presenting the outlook for human population growth and its consequences, based on surveys carried out by researchers.
