After celebrating its 15th anniversary last year with a double edition, Hellfest returns with four new days of unmissable music on Thursday June 15, Friday June 16, Saturday June 17 and Sunday June 18, 2023. For the occasion, Hellfest has several new features in store for festival-goers. On April 14, the French extreme music festival unveiled the site plan for its 2023 edition on its social networks.
The Valley stage, dedicated to doom metal, stoner rock, sludge metal and post-metal, is moving! This summer, this famous stage, which until now has been covered and located next to the Temple stage, is moving into the open air just opposite the Warzone, " all in an area of one hectare, allowing us to gain space and comfort throughout the site ", explains the festival on its social networks.
To mark the occasion, Hellfest will be offering " new decorative elements ", including the"Wheel of Charon". Designed by American artist Peter Hudson at the Burning Man festival in 2011, this monumental installation is sure to amaze festival-goers! Hellfest will also unveil a new bar and food stalls in this new area.
Another new feature at Hellfest 2023? The Sanctuary, the festival's new merchandising space on the former Valley Stage site. Described as " Europe's largest ephemeral store ", The Sanctuary will feature a " structure custom-built for the festival ". This is sure to put a smile on the faces of the many festival-goers who have made a habit of leaving with one or more festival souvenirs.
Another change? The installation of a cocktail bar and a juice bar in place of the former merchandising areas.
Finally, for bicycle enthusiasts, Hellfest is expanding its bike parking area, with the added bonus of a repair shop in case you have a problem with your two-wheeler!
