Considered one of the music festivals of which Bretons are most proud, Les Vieilles Charrues has been around since 1992, and has never ceased to surprise over the years. Created over 30 years ago, it has rapidly become France's biggest music festival in terms of paid admissions (242,000 admissions in 2010, around 5,500 volunteers in 2010), attracting a public drawn by its eclectic line-up and festive, convivial spirit.
From James Brown in 1997 to Bruce Springsteen in 2009, not forgetting Deep Purple, New Order, Iggy Pop, Patti Smith and Arcade Fire, Les Vieilles Charrues has always attracted people to Brittany!
After a stellar edition in 2025, the Vieilles Charrues returned to Carhaix in 2026 with an explosive lineup that once again drew huge crowds. Indeed, Katy Perry, Orelsan, Mosimann, Josman, Nick Cave, Vanessa Paradis, as well as Aya Nakamura and Disiz lit up four consecutive days in Carhaix this summer.
From now on, all eyes are on the 2027 edition, eagerly anticipated by the many festival-goers who make the event a regular date on their calendar. So when is this new and 35th edition scheduled? Save the dates: Vieilles Charrues invites you back to the Kerampuilh site in Carhaix from Thursday, July 15 to Sunday, July 18, 2027.
