For July 14th, the town of Houdan in the Yvelines is pulling out all the stops and organizing two days of festivities. For the national holiday celebrating the storming of the Bastille, this pretty medieval town and its keep welcome you from the evening of July 13, with a host of free, fun-filled events, with friends and family alike! It's also an opportunity to discover the town's history and its many secrets, well kept since the Middle Ages.
We start with a lively torchlight procession from the town hall square, where you can pick up your lanterns and watch the Dixmude majorettes and the Los Torpillos brass band, who will wake up the whole district!
As every year, the procession will make its way to the Parc du Cygne by the light of thousands of small lamps, to watch the fireworks at 11 p.m., before ending the evening in style, with a grand popular ball until 2 a.m., ideal for dancing under a beautiful summer sky. And that's not all! The next day, for the big day, there's a country-style lunch on the Place de la Tour, accompanied by entertainment and games for the whole family, all afternoon long.
