Every year, in mid-July, the whole of France comes together for a great popular festival. And it's not just to celebrate summer vacations: July 14 is the country's national holiday, commemorating the storming of the Bastille and the symbolic end of absolute monarchy. So, this Monday, July 14, 2025, most of France's communes are decked out in their finest to celebrate this national holiday with dignity. For the occasion, and in keeping with tradition, the French gather to watch the military parade, the fireworks display and the firemen's ball organized in or near Paris.
Residents of the Val-de-Marne don't have to travel all the way to the heart of the capital to enjoy the July 14th celebrations. The commune of Sucy-en-Brie is organizing its own festivities on Sunday July 13 and Monday July 14, 2025. Located near Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, Bonneuil-sur-Marne and Boissy-Saint-Léger, the town is known for its sports clubs and château.
