La Verrière, Élancourt and Maurepas celebrate the Fête Nationale together. This Thursday, July 13, from 11 p.m., join us at the Coulée Verte in Élancourt for a spectacular fireworks display that will light up the sky. Whether you're with family or friends, come and enjoy this breathtaking pyrotechnic show and marvel at the beauty of the colors and shapes that will unfold in the darkness of the night.

The Coulée Verte d'Élancourt, the venue for this inter-communal fireworks display, is a beautiful green space in the Yvelines region. It's a haven of peace in the heart of the town, offering a natural and soothing escape. This promenade along the Commanderie is ideal for relaxing with family or friends, and enjoying a moment of calm before the hustle and bustle of the festivities.

Before the festivities, why not take advantage of this magnificent space to enjoy a picnic in the company of friends and family? It's the perfect opportunity to share a convivial moment and prepare for a memorable evening.

The event is organized jointly by the mayors of each commune. Jean-Michel Fourgous, Mayor ofÉlancourt and Chairman of Sqy, Grégory Garestier, Mayor of Maurepas, and Nicolas Dainville, Mayor of La Verrière, invite you to celebrate the Fête Nationale in a warm and festive atmosphere.

The inter-communal fireworks display will take place from 11pm, at the Coulée Verte de la Commanderie, in Élancourt. The lush green setting is ideal for admiring the show and enjoying the enchanting atmosphere of this special evening.

Don't miss this opportunity to take part in a French tradition that has endured for over two centuries. Did you know that fireworks have been part of our culture for 228 years? The Chinese were the first to use black powder in the 8th century, and it was Marco Polo who brought it to Europe in the 13th century. In France, the first pyrotechnic show was organized in 1612 on the Place des Vosges in Paris, to mark the wedding of Louis XIII and Anne of Austria. Since the French Revolution, fireworks have become a recurring festive symbol of the Fête de la Fédération on July 14, 1790. However, it wasn't until the Third Republic that fireworks became a fixture of the Fête Nationale, officially established on July 14 in 1880.

Take part in this historic tradition and experience an unforgettable evening at the Élancourt, La Verrière and Maurepas intercommunal fire works display on July 13, 2023. Take a break from your daily routine and let yourself be transported by the magic of the lights that will set the starry sky ablaze. Don't forget, it's off to Élancourt's Coulée Verte to celebrate the Fête Nationale in a festive and joyous atmosphere.
