National Day 2026 at Disneyland Paris: our take on the July 14 show

Disneyland Paris celebrated Bastille Day on July 14, 2026 with an unprecedented drone show above Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. Because of the heatwave and the measures issued by the Seine-et-Marne prefecture, the spectacle was adapted and performed without fireworks. We managed to see it anyway—here’s what happened.

A proper National Day celebration! Disneyland Paris invited you to discover, on this July 14, 2026, its traditional nighttime show to celebrate France through Disney stories, with a brand-new spectacle featuring a variety of effects and a drone ballet crafted with Dronisos. Thus, as every year, the Disneyland Park raised France’s colors high with a show in the vein of the one from the Eiffel Tower!

To be part of the evening’s event, you needed a valid ticket to enter Disneyland Park. That access let you enjoy the park’s many rides, shops, parades and restaurants before the night’s grand finale. The Sleeping Beauty Castle, in Fantasyland, served as the backdrop for the show. And once again this year, the drone show specially designed for the occasion put France in the spotlight, celebrating both the Disney and Pixar universes.

A show that, for this special day, replaced Disney Tales of Magic. En revanche, Disney Tales of Magic. By contrast, Disney Cascade of Lights, the nocturnal performance at Disney Adventure World, stayed on its usual schedule, in a version also adapted without fireworks. Regarding the July 14 show, it began around 10:45 p.m. and lasted about 12 minutes. It blended lights, lasers, fountains and a drone ballet; the pyrotechnic effects initially planned were not used. It followed “Clochette dans un voyage autour du monde, à travers des classiques Disney et Pixar,” as announced by Disneyland Paris.

Our take on the July 14 show at Disneyland Paris:

Disneyland Paris offered, as it does every year, its take on the traditional Bastille Day fireworks. For this national celebration, the park unveiled a brand-new show, unfortunately without pyrotechnics, due to the heat wave and prefectural restrictions tied to fire risk.

A show that’s been reinvented almost from the ground up— two scenes were kept identical— and which, we hope, will be back next year in this exact format so you can enjoy it too. No plans for a straight reprise have been announced at this stage.

We follow Tinker Bell as she takes us on a journey through a Paris we know and love, punctuated by tributes to various Disney animated films.

Our take:

First note: during our visit, the spectacle was particularly popular. To secure a good viewing spot, arrive well in advance— more than an hour early— as some waited two hours and still hadn’t snagged the best positions.

On where to stand, if this format returns next edition, aim for the end of Main Street, U.S.A. coming from the entrance, i.e. near the castle, or right in Central Plaza. Do be aware that standing directly in front of the castle could cause you to miss certain effects, like smoke effects on Main Street, U.S.A. at specific tableaux, or the snow and foam effects seen during the Christmas season. The best compromise is to position yourself on Main Street, U.S.A., but not too far from the castle, since some tableaux become less visible if you’re too far away—the buildings at the end of the street can obscure part of the view.

The show had a solid duration: 12 minutes— not too long, not too short, leaving you satisfied. The numerous tableaux moved at a brisk pace, and the music was catchy enough to tempt a few dance steps. Yes, we could see you in the front rows tapping along to the French Cancan, especially on the Moulin Rouge tableau...

As for the finale, you did have to look up for a giant Mickey head painted in the colors of the French flag, just as the castle did. A final tableau wrapped things up and nudged you to exit gradually on a high note.

Something to enchant both kids and grown-ups alike, and to make for a magical evening!
