The town of Ris-Orangis is planning two days of festivities to celebrate its national holiday, with entertainment for all the family. Fireworks, cinema, ball, picnic... Discover the program.

Do you enjoy partying, catching up with friends and family, and spending quality time with your neighbors? Ris-Orangis is the town for you! On July 13 and 14, 2023, theEssonne town celebrates its national holiday with a range of free events open to all. Yes, you read that right: two days of festivities this July, to commemorate one of the most important dates in French history.

Indeed, July 14 in France symbolizes the French Revolution, the end of absolute monarchy and the beginning of a more egalitarian, more democratic society. Traditionally, on this date every year, the whole of France gathers in its communes to dance, admire the fireworks and share a moment together.

And Ris-Orangis is no exception: this commune on the banks of the Seine can even claim to be more republican than most! In 1790, Ris-Orangis (still just a wine-growing village) was the first French commune to elect a mayor.

This year, the national holiday is celebrated on Thursday July 13 and Friday July 14, with a variety of events. Here's the program:

  • Ball
Thursday July 13, 9pm to 1am, town hall forecourt
The dance floor awaits you! The Frontière Live band invites you to step back in time to the rhythms of disco, funk, pop and French variety.
Catering provided by the USRO soccer section.

  • Republican picnic and fire works
    Friday, July 14 from 6pm, Roger-Latruberce stadium
Bring your own picnic for a convivial evening.
6pm: screening of the animated film The Croods 2: A New Era
8pm: screening of the film Mia et le lion blanc
10:45pm: "Avoir raison de croire en l'avenir" fireworks display. Soundtrack produced by the municipal services, with the participation of our civic services, the Youth Department and the Municipal Children's Council for the recording of texts. Fireworks by Soirs de fêtes.
