Christmas 2023 in solidarity: give a Christmas box as a gift to a homeless person

Christmas Gift Box season is underway! To bring a little joy to a homeless person, give him or her a box filled with useful gifts, such as warm accessories, hygiene products, games and delicacies, all accompanied by a word of affection. It's a wonderful initiative that's sure to cheer up the less fortunate.

Christmas 2023 will once again be a time for solidarity! In France, almost 300,000 people are homeless, and thousands more are struggling to avoid falling into this precarious situation. While associations are already hard at work distributing meals, toys and clothing to the most needy every winter, other voluntary actions are multiplying in the run-up to the festive season.

Such is the case with the famous " Boîtes de Noël solidaires", made famous in 2020 by a young Parisian woman. Today, this wonderful initiative is continuing in the capital and nationwide. The concept? Offer a Christmas box to the homeless, filled with useful items, a snack and a nice message. To bring the project to fruition, partner associations work hand-in-hand with individuals wishing to make donations. The Essonne region (91) is organizing the 4th edition of its collection from November 20 to December 12, 2023. Find out more on their Facebook page Boîtes de Noël 2023 Essonne.

As a reminder, here's how to prepare your solidarity gifts. First, you need to get your hands on a standard-size"shoebox" and fill it with a warm item of clothing or accessory (gloves, hat, scarf, socks, etc.), an item of clothing or an item of clothing for the home.), a hygiene product (toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, etc.), a snack (cookies, chocolate, tinned food, etc.), a hobby (book, card game, etc.) and, above all, a kind word to comfort the recipient.

As for the finish, the boxes should be packaged like real presents, but in such a way that the Christmas Box collection points can check the inside before distribution. Also specify whether it's a gift for Men, Women or a mixed gift.

It may not seem like much to us, but it makes all the difference to them! So why deprive yourself?

We'll be keeping an eye out for other areas in the IDF and the capital that are participating in the Christmas Boxes concept.
