Christmas Under the Stars 2025: the fun, family-friendly program at the Air and Space Museum

At the Air and Space Museum, the holiday season begins this Sunday, December 14, 2025, with the family event "Christmas under the stars." Discover the program for this edition.

The Air and Space Museum houses an impressive collection of flying objects of all kinds, from airplanes and airships to rockets and military aircraft. But there is one well-known flying object that the museum never displays... Santa's sleigh! To make up for this significant gap in its collections, every year the museum holds a special day celebrating the North Pole and the holiday season.

This Sunday, December 14, 2025, the Air and Space Museum invites us to participate in its Christmas under the stars, a day of activities and shows for the whole family. Fun and dreams await, with your head in the clouds, whatever your age! 

During thisChristmas Day of at the museum, parents, children, and visitors of all ages can enjoy a fun atmosphere and exciting discoveries in the world of aerospace. Various workshops, games, and special sessions are organized throughout the day. These events are sure to appeal to both the curious and the creative, and are adapted to the festive Christmas spirit!

So roll up your sleeves, open your eyes wide, and get ready for a busy day! Don't wait to reserve your tickets for this must-see event. Please note that while some activities are included with your museum admission ticket, others require an additional fee.

Without further ado, here is the program for this family day at the Air and Space Museum: 

  • Exhibition Small Steps on the Moon
    Produced by the Cité de l'Espace in Toulouse, the Small Steps on the Moon exhibition invites young audiences to discover a fun journey designed for sensory immersion and enriched by the Air and Space Museum. This exhibition, which is being shown for the first time, will spark children's curiosity and allow families to explore the mysteries of space.
    Location: Exhibition hall in the Great War hall

    Free admission. 

  • Show – Candice, the space adventurer
    Candice, the famous space adventurer, has been given a new mission: the sun has suddenly disappeared in broad daylight on planet Earth. Where is it? Where is it hiding? Who stole it? Accompanied by a shower of comets and her planet map, Candice investigates the outer reaches of the solar system.

    Time: 3 p.m. Duration: 40 minutes

  • "Constellations" workshop
    Come discover the winter constellations and let your imagination run wild to create the constellations of tomorrow.
    Location: Great War Hall

  • "Christmas Star" Planetarium
    According to tradition, the Three Wise Men were guided by a star that appeared at Christmas. But what could this star have been? During this session, discover various astronomical phenomena that could cause an unusual event to appear in the sky. It will give you a whole new perspective on the starry night.

    Times: 2:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m. Duration: 30 minutes

    Accessible to people with reduced mobility
    Register at the Information Point. 53 people per tour slot. Departure in front of the planetarium.
    Visitors must arrive 5 minutes in advance. It is not possible to enter the planetarium once the session has started. 

  • Astro for kids
    Immerse yourself in a fun and sensory exploration of the universe, the solar system, and its different planets during a workshop specially designed for 3-6 year olds!
    Location: planetarium and space hall
    Times: 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. Duration: 1 hour
    Ages 3 and up
    Accessible to people with reduced mobility
    Registration at the Information Desk. 15 children per time slot.
    Visitors must arrive 5 minutes early. Each child must be accompanied by a parent. 

  • Tell me about a planet
    No fewer than eight planets orbit the Sun! Choose one and let our guide tell you all about it as if you were there: is it hot? Is it windy? Is it smaller or bigger than Earth? Presented in the form of soft toys, the planets will hold no more secrets for you!
    Location: Space Hall
    Continuous from 2pm to 5pm
    Ages 2 and up 

  • Tour of the Space Hall – Humans in space
    Step into the shoes of an astronaut for a tour and learn about the history of humans in space. From flights carrying animals to Thomas Pesquet, discover the history of humans in space!
    Location: Space Hall
    Times: 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 2:00 p.m., 3:30 p.m. Duration: 1 hour
    Ages 6 and up
    Accessible to people with reduced mobility
    Register at the Information Point. 25 people per tour slot.
    Departure from the Space Hall. 

  • Model rocketry and stuffed animal launch
    ALCEMS, the Lille Association for the Design and Study of Space Models, invites you to discover model rocketry, which involves building and launching model rockets. Perhaps this is a modern method that Santa's elves can use to transport and deliver Christmas presents to children who have been good... Children aged 5 and over can take part in a workshop to build a small Christmas-themed rocket.
    At the end of the workshop, you can watch a rocket launch (horizontally on a cable) to experience the "thrill" of a rocket taking off. Bonus! This rocket will be carrying a cuddly toy! A team of enthusiasts will be on hand to explain and introduce you to model rocketry at their stand. Children can leave a little note to be carried in Santa's rocket!

  • Air and Space Greetings
    From the first wings to the stars, greeting cards tell a story of human and technological adventure. This exhibition explores the imagination of the sky and space through a dialogue between artistic creations and institutional archives.
