" It's one small step for man, and one giant leap for mankind ": these words, spoken by Neil Armstrong, made history. But what if you, too, could take a small step towards the Moon? That's what the Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace is proposing with its new exhibition dedicated to children aged 2 to 6... Well, almost.
The exhibition, running from December 14, 2025 to May 17, 2026, is entitled Small Steps to the Moon. It's a fun and educational journey, designed for curious youngsters and future astronauts.
The Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace invites us to plunge into a world of stars, planets and comets, a universe that has inspired every generation since the dawn of mankind. The exhibition is both immersive and sensory, to capture the attention of even the youngest visitors.
The tour is divided into four immersive areas: Earth by day, Earth by night, the Moon and Space. Thanks to interactive and scientific devices, children can discover space and astronomy. Visitors are invited to climb into a rocket, observe the sky through a telescope, assemble the planets of the solar system, discover the daily life of astronauts on mission...
Fascinating objects from the museum's collections are featured in this tour: astronaut outfits, lunar meteorite samples usually kept at the Muséum nationale d'Histoire naturelle, objects that have travelled in space alongside Thomas Pesquet or Claudie Haigneré, space food....
To complement this exhibition, the Musée du Bourget is offering a play and creation area, in partnership with the famous Playmobil brand. Children can play with small astronaut figurines, draw and enjoy a reading corner.
Last but not least, a number of short films are being shown in the Hall de l'Espace, alongside the exhibition: these space-themed films can be enjoyed by the whole family.
