Like the other departments in the Île-de-France region,Essonne is getting ready to celebrate the holiday season. For Christmas 2025, several towns in the department are putting together a program that is as magical as it is enchanting. While Christmas lights and markets will of course be part of the festivities, other activities will also delight children of all ages. InMilly-la-Forêt, workshops will be offered to make your own Christmas wreath, while in Méréville, residents can enjoy Christmas stories.
The townof Étampes also plans to make a splash this December 2025. While the lights will be shining throughout the holiday season, a big day awaits the population on Sunday, December 14. The town in the Paris region has announced a sound and light show thatwill light up the sky above the Town Hall at 5:30 p.m. To extend the festivities, a magical parade will take place on the same day, December 14, starting at 6 p.m.
In addition to this sound and light show and parade, the residents of Étampes will also be able to visit the Christmas Market, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Located on Place Notre-Dame in Étampes, this market will be an opportunity for residents to discover artisans and producers, as well as local merchants and their expertise. The icing on the cake is that children will even be able to have their photo taken with Father Christmas!
