Attention, little egg hunters and their families: the Easter egg hunt organized by the Secours Populaire is back in the city for a new 100% charitable edition. Mark your calendars for Sunday, April 5, 2026, in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, at the heart of the lush Buttes-Chaumont park, one of the largest and most scenic green spaces in Paris.
This year, over 200 volunteers from the Paris Federation are stepping up to oversee the festivities, with thousands of children expected to join in on the fun. The egg hunt is organized by age groups to ensure everyone can enjoy the experience at their own pace: from 2 to 4 years old, 5 to 7 years old, and 8 to 10 years old. Whether shy or adventurous, kids will find plenty to explore amid the rolling groves of the park. After collecting their treasures, young explorers are rewarded with a well-deserved chocolate snack. Families can then head down to the sports area to keep the outdoor celebration going all day long.
To take part, you'll need a hunting passport, which can be purchased online. The fee is a solidarity contribution of 8 euros per passport—less than the 10 euros charged on the day of the event. It's highly recommended to book in advance to avoid queues and to select your preferred time slot in peace.
Beyond the Easter egg hunt, a community village is setting up in the heart of the park, offering a wide range of activities suitable for the whole family:
And that's just the beginning! All proceeds from the day's activities will be fully donated to the Paris Federation of the Secours Populaire, helping to fund their international aid initiatives. It’s a wonderful opportunity to enjoy quality family time while making a meaningful contribution to a great cause.
What makes this day so special is its underlying purpose. The French Popular Relief organization is active in over 16 countries, focusing on four key areas: children's education and rights, empowering women, food security, and emergency aid. The egg hunt transforms into a tool for raising awareness, especially through activities like the children’s rights workshop, helping young participants understand, in their own way, the importance of solidarity both locally and worldwide. This meaningful purpose is what elevates it to a truly unique family outing in the calendar of Easter egg hunts 2026 in Paris and Île-de-France.
The event will take place at the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont on Sunday, April 5, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, during the time slot selected when booking. To get there by public transport, take Line 7 bis of the metro, which stops at Botzaris station on the south side of the park, and buses 26 and 71 that stop at Buttes-Chaumont.
