Monnaie de Paris marks its anniversary this June… and it bears a very special name. The French mint was indeed established on June 25, 864, thanks to the Edict of Ptises, issued by King Charles II. Each year, the Monnaie de Paris invites us to celebrate the Feast of Ptres, for a weekend of free, festive surprises...
This year, the Monnaie de Paris is set to mark its 1,162nd birthday over the weekend of June 20–21, 2026. We’re gearing up for a whole host of playful, educational, and artistic activities for friends or family at this uniquely Parisian museum. Need I remind you that the Monnaie de Paris and its happenings are completely free during this special weekend? Seriously, you won’t want to miss it!
So what can you expect this weekend for the anniversary celebration? Tours, games, concerts, crafts, demonstrations... there’s something for everyone, and for all ages. The event is open without needing a reservation, but the venue could fill up quickly: to be sure you can enjoy all of these activities, we recommend arriving early.
