Halloween 2022: scary visits at the Ménagerie of the Jardin des Plantes

The Menagerie du Jardin des Plantes will be decked out in Halloween colors during the All Saints' Day vacations, from October 21 to November 5, 2023, with its most terrifying animals. Rats, vultures, snakes and spiders await you during a weekend of special, spooky activities!

During the All Saints' Day vacation in 2023, the Menagerie du Jardin des Plantes is transforming itself forHalloween , offering children and families free entertainment (included in the admission ticket) with"Même pas peur", from October 21 to November 5, 2023 . So, are you ready for the big chill at the Jardin des Plantes Menagerie?

On the program: a visit to learn all you need to know about spiders, a workshop to discover the Menagerie's most worrying residents... There's also a free visit to the natural science cabinet beyond the grave, where the Menagerie's scientific animators welcome you every afternoon.

Don't forget to stop by the red panda,orang-utan and panther enclosures to discover the animals that call one of the world's oldest zoos home! La Menagerie even offers a free game, available on smartphone only, to discover 15 species present in the garden while playing.

Arachnologist Christine Rolland introduces you to these little creatures with such a bad reputation. Be warned: by the end of the visit, you'll know everything there is to know about spiders!

Whether you're afraid of snakes, rats or even spiders, an animation explains how to overcome your fears and get to know certain species.

Scary names

Discover the "Devil's Horse", the "Blood Spitter" and other little beasts with strange names to find out who's behind them, during a visit with a scientific animator from the Menagerie.

Ghosts of the Menagerie

Take a stroll through the Menagerie with one of its scientific animators to discover animals considered to be "the white lady", "the ghost of the mountain" or "the ghost of the tundra". The animator will also explain the origin of these names.
