With Halloween just around the corner, Château de Breteuil is offering a range of events. A haunted night for the bravest on October 18, a special Halloween day on October 26 and a murder party on October 31, 2025. So, are you ready to be thrilled in more ways than one?

Get ready to bring out your best monster mask, witch's hat and scary costume: Halloween is back! For the occasion, many venues are decked out in the colors of the spookiest holiday of the year, including the Château de Breteuil, which is offering an exclusive program... all in the sign of fear. Will you dare to venture there?

The Château de Breteuil in Choisel, in the Chevreuse valley, is renewing its Halloween 2025 program with three spooky events. Thrill-seekers can discover the activities on offer on October 18, 26 and 31, 2025 at this Yvelines chateau, famous for having inspired Charles Perrault's fairy tales.

Once again this year, the historic estate just 35 kilometers from Paris is transformed to welcome thrill-seekers of all ages. The program adapts to different audiences, with family events and others reserved for the bravest.

Which animation is right for you?

The Haunted Night on Saturday, October 18, 2025 is aimed at visitors in search of intense emotions. This nocturnal event promises mysterious riddles and ghostly characters to guide participants on an immersive adventure in the heart of the château and its gardens. The event takes place in the dark, creating a particularly striking atmosphere in the furnished rooms of the 17th-century château.

The special Halloween day on Sunday, October 26, 2025 is perfect for families. On the program: castle tour from 11am to 12:30pm and 2pm to 5:30pm, treasure hunt from 1pm, pumpkin tales at 2:30pm, 3:30pm and 4:30pm. The day closes with a pumpkin carving and costume contest at 5:30pm. Visitors are invited to come in costume and bring their carved pumpkins to take part in the competitions.

The murder party, the star event on October 31

The murder party on Thursday, October 31, 2025 is the highlight of the Halloween program. Organized in partnership with Curious Animations, this life-size investigation turns participants into detectives. A mysterious crime has taken place at the château, and budding investigators must solve the enigma by wandering through the various rooms of the monument.

The animation was inspired by previous editions, which transported participants back to the 1920s, the era of sumptuous balls and mundane dinners at the château. Characters in period costume immerse visitors in a thrilling plot where every clue counts to identify the culprit.

Château de Breteuil is located in Choisel (78460), in the heart of the Chevreuse Valley Nature Park. Accessible by public transport from Robinson station or by car via the N118, the estate has free parking. Halloween Day is free of charge and requires no prior reservation.
