When the leaves crack and the moon clings to the rooftops, Paris and the surrounding region are shrouded in a deliciously eerie mist. For Halloween 2025, museums go wild for a haunted night, castles awaken their ghosts for immersive experiences, while escape games redouble their traps and cinemas rattle red seats with horror classics. Some addresses are even transformed into ultra-chic bals macabres, where witches' brooms are swapped for champagne flutes, pumpkins for candlesticks - and shadows, determined not to stay quiet, dance the night away.
On October 31 and November 1, 2025, the Château de Ferrières(Seine-et-Marne, 77) lights its candles again for La Nuit des Ombres, an immersive dinner as beautiful as it is eerie. We travel back in time to 1882, to the heart of a Ferrières family banquet. But behind the smiles and tinkling crystal, secrets ooze. Brutal disappearances, jealous heirs, over-talkative servants... Here, every corridor could be a crime scene, every shadow a witness.
On the menu: a three-course dinner orchestrated by the château's chefs, punctuated by theatrical scenes performed by over 20 actors. Over the course of the meal, guests witness revelations, confrontations and disappearances, before daring to venture into the forbidden zones of the château for a blood-curdling nocturnal exploration until 11pm. Then it's off to for a dance party lasting until 2am, between heartbeats and a Halloween DJ set.
VIPs will be welcomed from 6.30pm (reserved parking, glass of champagne), before the doors close at 8pm - and then there's no escape.
A grandiose setting, an intrigue that grips the throat, chills served up on a silver platter: Night of Shadows marks the return of chic... in its gothic version.
