For the Journées du Patrimoine, the SNCF invites you to discover the Gare du Nord on Saturday, September 20, 2025. Currently Europe's 1st and the world's 3rd busiest station, Gare du Nord welcomes 700,000 passengers a day and serves 4 European countries. With its 3 RER lines and 2 Transilien lines, it handles 2,100 trains every day! The JEP is a great opportunity for the whole family to make discoveries, and it's all completely free of charge.
The oldest of Paris's major railway stations, opened in 1846 by the Compagnie des chemins de fer du Nord as a landing stage for the Paris-Nord-Lille line, the Gare du Nord is today the only one to have fully preserved its architecture, with its facade adorned with 23 monumental statues sculpted on site by artists of the time. These statues represent the main cities served by the company(Paris, London, Berlin, Frankfurt, Warsaw, Amsterdam, Vienna, Brussels, etc.).
Music is part of the cultural heritage of an entire country. The Orchestre d'Harmonie du Chemin de Fer du Nord is part of that of the SNCF. Firmly rooted in the 10th arrondissement, it's only natural that we should offer this concert under the Gare du Nord's beautiful glass roof, to brighten up the wait of passengers, more and more of whom stop to listen to us every year. It's a real treat for us and for all our warm-hearted audience!
