Heritage Days 2022 in Paris: A Tour of the Chloé House

For the highly anticipated Heritage Days 2022 in Paris, Maison Chloé will open the doors of its historic townhouse in the heart of the 9th arrondissement, from September 17 to 18, 2022. Visitors are invited to explore a curated selection of Chloé's heritage pieces and, with the help of archives, trace the journey of one of the very first luxury prêt-à-porter brands.

The European Heritage Days offer a perfect opportunity to showcase extraordinary sites through a variety of guided tours and activities. In Paris, where culture is woven into the very fabric of the city at every turn, these days invite locals and visitors alike to (re)discover iconic landmarks and museums — and, intriguingly, often introduce them to lesser-known gems. It’s a dual experience: delighting history enthusiasts while also appealing to the curious seeking the latest trends and offbeat spots.

Maison Chloé is a must-visit during Heritage Days 2022 in Paris. Located in a luxury townhouse in the 8th arrondissement, it stands as one of the earliest examples of luxury ready-to-wear fashion making its debut in Paris in 1952. Gaby Aghion, the founder of Chloé, hosted the brand’s very first runway show in 1957 at the iconic Café de Flore, a hot spot for France’s most influential artists. By the 1960s, the brand saw a succession of trendsetting creative directors, including giants like Karl Lagerfeld, Martine Sitbon, Stella McCartney, and Phoebe Philo. Today, it is designer Clare Waight Keller who guides the brand’s artistic vision. Her designs blend fluidity, femininity, and a hint of androgyny — the delicate balance that defines Chloé’s distinctive spirit, both past and present.
