The Puces de Saint-Ouen, a Parisian mecca for china and vintage, marks an unusual stop on the Journées du Patrimoine 2025 itinerary. Founded in the 19th century, these flea markets were born of the ingenuity of ragpickers, who unearthed treasures among the garbage. Over the years, this unique place has become a veritable symbol of popular culture and passion for antiques.
Witness to historic events and a crossroads of cultures, the Puces de Saint-Ouen continues to amaze visitors from all over the world. Between heritage and modernity, this vibrant and eclectic universe plunges you into a timeless and magical adventure.
Discover or rediscover the unusual history of the Puces de Saint-Ouen and the architectural contrasts of this giant cabinet of curiosities during the European Heritage Days 2025!
With 1,100 antique and second-hand dealers, the Puces is not one, but twelve markets, with a concentration of antique dealers and bargain hunters that very early on attracted bars and restaurants capable of creating a convivial atmosphere appreciated by Parisians and tourists alike. And here again, there's a great diversity of offerings.
On the edge of the market, some fifty antique dealers and galleries have set up shop, as well as hotels with original concepts. The city has also acquired a building leased to Paris-Dauphine University, which will house around a hundred students in residence from the start of the 2019 academic year.
The Puces de Saint-Ouen district is therefore a maze of extremely different buildings, both in terms of scale and materiality; this is undoubtedly why it is so charming and attracts so many tourists...
