As is the case every autumn, one of the events we all look forward to, especially in Paris and the Île-de-France region, is undoubtedly the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days). So, in Paris or in any of the other départements in the region, discover the region's historic monuments, the most beautiful churches and cathedrals in the region, places of power, but also a lesser-known heritage, more industrial, artisanal and just as precious, which you can discover during the guided tours, workshops and other events organized for these very special Journées .
In theEssonne department, the town of Gif-sur-Yvette is best known for its Saclay campus. However, Gif-sur-Yvette is a wonderful destination to discover during the Journées du Patrimoine 2025, with a wealth of remains to be discovered for the occasion. Located in the Parc Naturel Régional de la Haute Vallée de Chevreuse, Gif is a very green town, with beautiful walks starting from the station (RER B). Don't miss out on a visit to one of Gif's many châteaux, including Château de Belleville, a historic gem that tells the story of the region, Château de l'Hermitage and Château du Val Fleury... Science enthusiasts will be delighted by the Université Paris-Saclay campus, a center of excellence that brings together top schools and universities. Between science, nature and heritage, don't miss out on discovering Gif-sur-Yvette during the 2025 European Heritage Days!

Benoît Frachon Center
The CGT training center, named the Benoît Frachon Center in 1975, is located on the site of the former Courcelle mill, of which all that remains today is the "Manoir", which has undergone a number of transformations over the years. In 1948, the CGT acquired the site and transformed it into a center dedicated to trade union education, organizing training courses and evening or weekend classes, in a verdant setting enhanced by several works of art, within which various buildings with a resolutely original architecture were constructed to accommodate trainees.
Teilhard de Chardin Center
Located in the heart of the Moulon district, the Centre Teilhard de Chardin is a place for dialogue between science, technology, the humanities, philosophy and spirituality, open to all, in a building of innovative architecture designed by the Duthilleul agency.

Belleville Castle
At the crossroads of eras and cultures, gold doesn't just shine: it whispers ancestral wisdom and traces unexpected paths.
In this exhibition by illuminator Marie-Pierre Musseau, illuminations become visual incantations, embroidery weaves the thread of time and Chinese painting, with its timeless elegance, unfolds its dreamlike landscapes.
La Voix de l'Or, a subtle and poetic guide, is much more than a collection of works. It is an exploration of light, a melody, a journey where art reveals its secrets to the heart of those who observe it.
Listen to this discreet song, follow this golden path and let gold light your way.
Château de l'Hermitage
Discover the history of this beautiful bourgeois residence, a remarkable example of early 19th-century Ile-de-France resort living, which has been awarded the "Heritage of Regional Interest" label.
Visit the first floor rooms.
Château du Val Fleury
Discover the historic charm of the Château du Val Fleury, a true gem hidden in the heart of the region. Join us to explore its architectural beauty and rich heritage during the Heritage Days.
Since 2015, the town of Gif-sur-Yvette, Fernand Léger's last home, has been building up a unique artistic collection of original posters from the painter's personal exhibitions, including exceptional and rare historical posters printed in lithography by the illustrious Parisian publisher Fernand Mourlot. These posters are precious historical documents and works of art in their own right.
To mark the 70th anniversary of the artist's death, the Val Fleury is offering a fresh look at this collection, with a display that highlights recent acquisitions and the major galleries of his time, and traces Léger's years in Giffre.
Saint-Rémy Saint-Jean-Baptiste Church
A blend of Romanesque and Gothic styles, this charming 11th-century church was remodeled in the 19th century and restored to its original appearance in the 1980s. Listed on the Inventaire supplémentaire des Monuments Historiques, it also boasts a wealth of statuary and remarkable paintings.
