The Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days ) is one of September's not-to-be-missed events! Every year, this cultural event invites you to immerse yourself in the heart of our most beautiful treasures over an exceptional weekend. Museums, monuments, churches, castles, and even places usually closed to the public , such as ministries, embassies and major institutions, all lend themselves to the game and unveil their programs, often free of charge, of free or guided tours, original events and workshops for young and old alike.

This year, the event returns for its 43rd edition on the weekend of September 19–20, 2026. To mark the occasion, a broad program awaits you in Paris and across Île-de-France! Because while the City of Light often takes center stage, the surrounding region more than holds its own.

This weekend is the perfect time to explore the region's heritage! In fact, the Val-de-Marne has plenty to surprise you. The town of Arcueil is just one of the places to visit during the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days). Check out the program below!

Workshop - Graphic Arts Museum

Open House
The association members will be delighted to show you the museum’s impressive collection of 19th-century printing presses and printing tools at the Arcueil Museum of Graphic Art. We’ll reveal the workshop area where current works are being created, our artists will be on hand to explain their process, and we'll walk you through the steps involved in producing a print.

Behind the scenes at the cinema-theatre
Come and visit our cinema-theatre, steeped in history (initially a community hall at the end of the 19th century) which recently marked 30 years in its current incarnation.

You can tour the backstage areas—the dressing rooms, the projection booths, and the stage. Get a glimpse behind the scenes.

Perret Chapel

Guided tours of the Perret Chapel in Arcueil
The Perret Chapel in Arcueil is a Franciscan chapel built in reinforced concrete by architect Auguste Perret (1874-1954). A discreet work erected between 1927 and 1929, it fuses the starkness of concrete and brick with light.
