For their 2025 edition, the European Heritage Days take place on the weekend of September 20 and 21: an opportunity to visit many places that open to the public for this one weekend of the year, like the Lycée Jacques Decour, in Paris' 9th arrondissement

On Saturday September 20 and Sunday September 21, 2025, the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) - AKA the must-attend cultural event of the autumn season - are back, with a program of very (very) interesting visits and events in Paris and the Île-de-France region. So, if you're more into ministries, churches, industrial heritage, walks in the great outdoors... There's something for everyone and the whole family! During this exceptional weekend, you can also take the opportunity to discover places that only open once a year, during the Journées du Patrimoine: this is the case of some large schools, for example, which normally only welcome their pupils.

Then head to the Lycée Jacques Decour in the 9th arrondissement to discover the various heritage sites hidden inside the school. Renowned for its "classes préparatoires aux grandes écoles", the Lycée Jacques Decour has been home to prestigious teachers such as poet Stéphane Mallarmé and philosopher Henri Bergson, and has seen the rise of equally famous pupils: painters Édouard Manet and Gustave Moreau, singer Claude Nougaro, film director François Truffaut... As part of the Journées du Patrimoine 2025, don't miss a visit to this famous Parisian high school!
