The 40th edition of the Journées du Patrimoine! Every year at the same time, this major cultural event is an opportunity to push open the doors of numerous museums and monuments throughout France. This year, the event is not to be missed on Saturday September 16 and Sunday September 17, 2023. For painting enthusiasts, take advantage of the Journées du Patrimoine to visit the Maison-Atelier Foujita. Nestled in the small Essonne village of Villiers-le-Bâcle, the Maison-Atelier Foujita invites visitors to plunge into the intimate world of the famous Franco-Japanese artist.
A major painter of the early 20th century, as well as a ceramist, couturier, illustrator and sculptor, Léonard Tsuguharu Foujita was a complete artist, and his sublime home reveals all his secrets! With the kitchen and dining room on the first floor, the living room and bedroom just above, and the incredible studio on the top floor, the Maison Foujita is a listed Historic Monument and was awarded the"Maisons des Illustres" label in 2011.
