Every year, the Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days ) invite us to delve into the treasures of the Paris region. In the four corners of theÎle-de-France region, museums, castles, craftsmen's workshops, major institutions, monuments and other surprising places reveal their secrets to us through an ultra-vitamin program of visits and events, often free and sometimes designed for young and old alike. Every year, Paris and the surrounding region get in on the act, and exceptional openings of places usually closed to the public are also on the menu for this exceptional weekend of cultural discoveries.
At the gateway to Paris, at the terminus of line 1, the town of Vincennes, on the edge of the eponymous wood and famous for its château, invites us to the 42nd Heritage Days to discover its history and monuments.
