The Journées du Patrimoine is a weekend of discovery like no other, when thousands of intriguing and fascinating sites open their doors to the general public. Many take advantage of the opportunity to visit museums, monuments, gardens, places of power or backstage at theaters, free of charge.
Others prefer to explore little-known places and heritage curiosities hidden in the towns and cities of the Paris region. Museum storerooms, ghostly metro stations, relics of the past... For those who know where to look, these Heritage Days are full of surprises.
Want to go behind the scenes and explore off the beaten path during the 2026 Heritage Days? Good news— the city of Sèvres, in the Hauts-de-Seine region, is full of surprises and delights that will captivate your imagination...
On September 19 and 20, explore the King’s Cellars, a network of underground quarries dating back several centuries. In the 18th century, these caves served as storage spaces for the wine merchants favored by Louis XIV. They were later emptied and auctioned off during the Revolution. Today, visitors can marvel at these impressive chambers, which stand as living witnesses to local history.
• Morning sessions (starting at 10 a.m.)
• Afternoon (starting at 2 p.m.)
Attention, visits are exclusively by reservation through the official website. Reservations are not yet open for this event, but details about available time slots will be announced soon on the website.
