Fans of 80s hits are in for a treat this Saturday evening,September 13 , in Pringy, Seine-et-Marne. The town is offering a free concert in the town hall park, with a line-up of artists who left their mark on this musical decade. On the program: Patrick Hernandez, interpreter of the legendary "Born to be Alive", William Picard from Début de Soirée, who got us dancing to "Nuit de folie", and Jean-Pierre Mader, author of the unforgettable "Macumba". Guitar soloist Philippe completes the line-up, while a surprise guest replaces Cookie Dingler, who has had to cancel his appearance.
This special 80s evening is organized around two shows. Opening the evening at 7.45pm,"Retour vers les 80" (Back to the 80s) features local artists from the Seine-et-Marne region: François Richard, Maud Maillard, Fabrice Alcyde and Amandine Santin. These singers, who usually specialize in covers of Johnny Hallyday and Michel Sardou, are now offering us a new show entirely dedicated to the hits of this golden decade of French and international music.
The main show, dubbed"La Folie des Années 80", will take us back into the festive, colorful atmosphere of that era. These artists, who we all saw in the Stars 80 show and who continue to tour all over France, promise a colorful and nostalgic evening. Patrick Hernandez and Jean-Pierre Mader, long-time friends according to the singer from Toulouse, are even preparing a surprise duet for the Pringiacian audience.
A famous mystery guest is planned. His identity is still a secret, but the organizers are giving us a big clue: it's an artist whom Jean-Jacques Goldman described as a "great singer" on Michel Drucker's "Tapis Rouge" in 1998. This reference augurs well for an artistic level "closer to the stars", to use the expression coined by the Pringy town council.
This patronal festival is not limited to the Saturday evening concert. From Friday September 12 to Sunday September 14, a funfair takes place in the parking lot of the Jean-de-la-Fontaine school complex. Sunday morning sees the traditional mass of the Black Madonna at 11 a.m. in the communal park, preceded by the customary procession. This ceremony perpetuates an age-old tradition: long before the arrival of Christianity, Pringy was already a place of Druid pilgrimage around a sacred oak tree, where a statue of the Virgin and Child is said to have been discovered.
Eric Chomaudon, mayor of Pringy, wants this new edition to be a festive occasion for all generations. The municipality is counting on this musical program to make up for the ban on fireworks and maintain the convivial spirit that characterizes this commune of 2,800 inhabitants located in the Melun Val de Seine conurbation.
Last year, almost 4,000 people turned out for the free concerts held in the same municipal park, demonstrating the public's enthusiasm for this type of event. Catering will be provided on site throughout the evening.
