Panic at the Queer Show: the participatory improv cabaret makes its comeback at Chez Olympe

After a stint at Boom Boom Villette and Speechless Bar, Panic at the Queer Show is making a comeback for its second season, set to take place at Olympe in Pantin on January 28, 2026. This interactive queer improvisation cabaret, led by Patsy Magret and featuring Amourose as a guest for this edition, invites the audience to help set the rules of the show. We caught it during its time at Boom Boom Villette—here’s what we saw!

The most popular queer cabaret in Paris is back to dazzle you! After a run at Boom Boom Villette in September 2025, and then at the Speechless Bar, Panic at the Queer Show — an interactive improvisation show — is heading to Pantin, Chez Olympe, for an eagerly awaited second season, opening on January 28, 2026.

On stage, the performers dive into unscripted, spontaneous acts entirely shaped by the audience. The concept remains straightforward and consistent with previous editions: you suggest the styles, themes, or even constraints, and they scramble to bring them to life, all orchestrated in a lively chaos led by host Patsy Magret. With open mic moments, solo performances, battles, and wild challenges, each show becomes one-of-a-kind — because nothing is planned in advance.

Starting the evening, three emerging queer talents — Edoz, Gabribelle, and Grrradziella — face off as the audience votes for their favorite, with only one making it through to the big show. Following that, the spotlight shifts to the guests: Amourose, along with the guest judge of the night, Penny'Mean.

A festive and inclusive playground

The atmosphere is designed as a participatory queer cabaret, open to all generations. Audiences aren't just spectators: they become the real driving force behind the show, imposing improbable music, unexpected accents or zany challenges. Feeling like a playmaker? Here, your voice counts and your ideas come to life under the spotlight.

It's an experience for those who like to be surprised, who are looking for a quirky, collective evening, or who want to support queer creation on stage. On the other hand, if you prefer a more structured show, with no surprises or interaction, this concept is unlikely to meet your expectations.

An evening to share with friends, family or tribe

As for the venue, the cabaret has everything you need to enjoy a memorable evening: a restaurant and a bar, so you can sip on drinks while watching the show. Keep in mind, reservations are mandatory as seats are limited. Whether you're coming with friends, family, or as a couple, this event promises an unconventional night out that defies expectations.

Doors open at 8 p.m., with the show kicking off at 9 p.m. Each stage is crafted as a crescendo, where the audience's energy directly fuels the performers’ acts. As Patsy Magret puts it: "Bring your energy level up to 1000, along with your friends and family — we’ll handle the rest. Here, we break things down, laugh, shake things up — and most importantly, improvise on a grand scale."

Our Take on Panic at the Queer Show:

A drag performance that the Sortiraparis team had the pleasure of witnessing at Boom Boom Villette... And of course, humor and good vibes were the order of the evening, making for a wild and energetic night. Leading the show, Patsy Magret, an engaging and dynamic host, expertly kept the energy high with a lineup of challenges, lip-sync battles, and plenty of kindness.

That’s what the evening was all about: a series of hilarious lipsyncs and battles, each more outrageous than the last, featuring three contestants (a drag queen and a drag king). So you might say, it’s not about high-drama runway shows or theatrical improvisation in the strictest sense... But that’s not the point here. We’re here for the good mood, the musical improvisation exercises, and the interaction with the crowd. And don’t think the audience stayed in the background — quite the opposite. They had a hand in everything, from choosing the music to setting the challenges. Simply put, there was never a dull moment! That is, until some brave souls took to the stage for a spectacular finale.

It’s a welcoming, family-friendly night, filled with mutual respect, since everyone is invited. The comedy cabaret also featured a very special guest, La Briochée, who performed several lipsyncs (finally winning one — a revenge from her season on Drag Race France...), joined by the winner of the first round, Penny'Mean. The night continued with more challenges under the watchful eyes of Patsy Magret and Someone.

In short, we loved it — and we’re already looking forward to the next show!
