Once again this year, the vibrant gathering of the annual Gay Pride event takes place, now officially called the LGBTQI+ Pride March. This national celebration advocates for equal rights for both heterosexual and LGBTQI+ communities. This year's march is set to return to Paris on Saturday, June 27, 2026. This information was provided by Inter-LGBT on its official website.
So, what can we expect this summer? Traditionally, the parade is preceded by a public speech. The procession then sets off in the early afternoon through the streets of the city. Once it reaches its destination, the Paris Pride March gives way to the Main Stage; a lively, free event featuring several musical acts. Additionally, it’s worth noting that since 2023, the Pride March has been without floats, in an effort to "continue environmental responsibility efforts and decarbonize the event".
What can we expect from the route for the 2026 edition of the March of Pride in Paris? As of now, the route has yet to be announced. Stay tuned for updates. Remember, in 2025, Inter-LGBT made a notable change by starting the parade downtown. The procession began at the Palais Royal - Louvre metro station (lines 1 and 7) before making its way to Place de la Nation, instead of the Place de la République as in previous years.
Organized for the first time in France in 1981, the event attracts over half a million people to the streets of Paris. This event, now a must, is one of a kind. You need to have been there at least once to experience the excitement, the festive atmosphere and the demands of this demonstration, whose objective is simple: to obtain equality and respect.
Organized by various associations and their dedicated volunteers, the LGBTQI+ Pride Walk involves around sixty organizations. They handle the practical organization of the entire event. Please note that, for the second year in a row, Inter-LGBT is launching a whole week of Pride celebrations leading up to the march. Mark your calendars for June 20 to 27, 2026, when a series of events—both militant, festive, and cultural—will take place. What’s on the agenda? "Music Festival, Pride Run, political evening, activist screenings, and other surprises: each event will serve as a platform for our struggles and pride, fighting discrimination and promoting true equality," it’s announced.
