Located on the Champs-Élysées, just steps from the Arc de Triomphe, the Maison du Danemark is a cultural institute that promotes Danish culture through exhibitions, markets, talks, workshops, concerts... Throughout the year, Parisians can discover Denmark thanks to this distinctive house right in the heart of Paris.
Not surprising, then, that the Maison du Danemark is taking part in the season's biggest cultural event. On September 19 and 20, 2026, the institution invites us to come visit the House, as part of the new edition of Heritage Days.
Each year, during the third weekend of September, the Journées du Patrimoine lights up Paris and the Île-de-France. This major event puts heritage in the spotlight in all its forms. For the occasion, thousands of venues throw open their doors to the public. Visitors can join special tours, exhibitions, concerts, games, tastings, performances and other unusual activities, all while discovering the capital’s finest historic and cultural sites. What a treat!

At the Top of the Champs-Élysées
Located at 142 Avenue des Champs-Élysées, the Danish House has been fostering closer ties between France and Denmark since its 1955 inauguration. A hub for meetings, exhibitions and discoveries, it has been showcasing Danish culture, design and know-how at the heart of Paris for more than seven decades.
On the occasion of European Heritage Days, September 19–20, 2026, the Danish House will exceptionally open its 7th floor to the public. Opened in 2010 and designed by Danish architect Dorte Mandrup, this contemporary space offers a privileged view of one of the world’s most celebrated avenues.
This special opening invites visitors to discover the history and architecture of the Danish House, before taking in the Champs-Élysées from a new angle—between sky, city and heritage.
