The Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine awaits you for the Journées du Patrimoine 2025, with a gigantic program for the whole family to enjoy on September 20 and 21.

For the Journées du Patrimoine 2025, the Cité de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine has put together a fabulous program for the whole family. Head for the 16th arrondissement on Saturday September 20 and Sunday September 21! And best of all, it's free!

Since 2007, the Cité de l' Architecture has been showcasing a fine collection of models, plans of fortified towns, pieces of forgotten buildings and stained glass windows; and the monument itself, a vestige of the museum of comparative sculpture opened in 1882, is a sight to behold.

The Journées du Patrimoine (Heritage Days) are an opportunity for families to discover the cultural heritage of Paris and the Île-de-France region. With free tours, activities for children and entertainment of all kinds, there's plenty to do this weekend of September 20 and 21, 2025. [Read more]

Among the highlights of the collection are the painted ceiling of the 14th-century dome of Cahors Cathedral, a model of Notre-Dame de Paris, a full-scale reconstruction of one of the housing units in the Cité radieuse built by Le Corbusier in Marseilles in 1952, and a model of the Gare du Nord railway station.

  • Living heritage: working with what already exists, by AIA Life Designers

    In conjunction with the exhibitions at the Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine, AIA Life Designers presents three approaches to architectural and landscape intervention on existing buildings, in order to preserve heritage while bringing it to life on a daily basis.

    A unique opportunity to discover the mural paintings on the vault of the so-called Romanesque Sistine Chapel! Now on display in the library of the Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine, the volume copy of the vault at Saint-Savin-sur-Gartempe offers a close-up view of these dynamic, fluid figures, in the ochre and pastel tones so characteristic of Romanesque mural painting in central France.

    From the drawing board to the model to scale 1, you can experiment with different representations of plants. In turn poetic, expressive, abstract or literal, flora settles in and spreads, to the delight of young and old alike!

    A fully dismantlable wooden cathedral model to help you understand all about Gothic architecture! Come and handle this exceptional model.

    Explore Paris at your fingertips, thanks to a large relief puzzle map and iconic architecture in 3D models. This workshop has been designed in partnership with the ApiDV association.

    Both devices have been restored or built thanks to the support of the Gecina Foundation, a patron of the Cité.

    Auguste Perret is one of the most emblematic architects of reinforced concrete architecture.

    On the occasion of JEP, and in partnership with the Conseil Économique Social et Environnemental (CESE), we're offering a cross-disciplinary architectural walk. Accompanied by a mediator from each institution, discover at the Cité some models of Auguste Perret's Parisian creations, including the Palais d'Iéna, then return to the building for a life-size tour of the interiors of this resolutely modern 1936 monument.



  • Tsuyoshi Tane: An Archaeology of the Future

    This exhibition in the Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Architecture illustrates, through three international museums, the method used by Japanese architect Tsuyoshi Tane when working on a project: excavating the memory of places in search of what has been forgotten or erased.

    In 20 minutes, the person in charge of this exhibition will introduce you to these remarkable creations and show you how this work radically questions the impact of contemporary architecture.
