Once again this year, the Musée des Plans-reliefs is taking part in the Journées du Patrimoine. Located in theHôtel des Invalides in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, the museum invites you on September 20 and 21, 2025 to explore France in historical models, through the presentation of 28 1/600-scale plans-reliefs, produced from the reign of Louis XIV to that of Napoleon III, and used to prepare military strategy during battles.

Throughout the weekend, the museum's mediators will be on hand to tell you all about the history of some of our relief models. As you make your way through the museum, they'll give you the keys to understanding these models. Anecdotes, manufacturing methods, town planning, architecture, landscape, military strategy and many other themes are on the program.
After a presentation of the collection by a tour guide, children will set off in search of remarkable architecture on the models, with the help of a game booklet. The aim is to evoke the military, civil and religious buildings hidden (or not!) in the towns. Observation and curiosity will be key to meeting the challenge!
After a quick look at the models in the museum rooms, build your own citadel with the whole family using KAPLA!
