The Val d'Oise Departmental Firefighters Museum, located in Osny, is taking part in Heritage Days and offers children and adults a glimpse into the firefighting profession on September 19 and 20, 2026.

They are everyday heroes, fighting flames and saving lives: the Val d'Oise firefighters surely deserve their museum! The good news is that this museum will open its doors to us on Saturday, September 19 and Sunday, September 20 for the Heritage Days 2026.

On this occasion, the Val d'Oise Departmental Firefighters Museum is free for everyone, and is to visit freely. Over more than 1,200 m², you can discover firefighting equipment from the 18th century to today: hand pumps, vehicles, portable pumps, breathing apparatus, etc. One room traces the history of uniforms, helmets, and other headgear from 1830 to 1960. Another room, specially aimed at children, offers a striking collection of toys, the oldest dating back to the 19th century.

Formerly housed in the Osny Fire Station, the museum’s collection moved into the courtyards of Grouchy Castle in 1999. Consequently, visitors can explore a range of equipment and artifacts tracing the history and heritage of the "firefighters", from the 18th century to the present day. Hand pumps, vehicles, motor pumps, and breathing apparatus are displayed across 1,200 square meters of exhibition space.

For this special weekend, the museum has planned special activities to discover during these Heritage Days 2026:
