If you're a social network user, you've probably noticed the problem. Since 4:25 p.m. this Tuesday, March 5, 2024, the Instagram, Facebook and Messenger applications of Threads, part of the META group, have suffered a worldwide outage. An hour after the start of the bug, these social networks are gradually returning to service.

Attention social network users, this Tuesday afternoon, March 5, 2024, you probably noticed a problem when opening some of the META group's applications. Don't panic, you haven't been hacked: Instagram, Facebook, Threads and Messenger have fallen victim to a worldwide outage.

These applications are therefore unavailable for an indefinite period. The reason for the outage is not yet known. This kind of bug could be linked to software update projects, or to a server problem. For the moment, Méta has not communicated on this problem, so we can't know when these applications will be back in service. However, at around 5.25pm, it seems that some users are gradually starting to access Facebook and Messenger again. At around 6:15pm, it was Instagram's turn to return to service.

While Messenger, the messaging service linked to Facebook, is affected by this worldwide outage, the WhatsApp application, also owned by the group since 2014, seems to have been spared. This is not the first time such problems have occurred. These bugs can occur regularly on the Californian giant's major social networks. whether on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, or Threads, the network linked to Instagram in response to X, ex-twitter. For the time being, users will have to be patient until this bug is resolved.
