Line 11 of the Paris metro will be extended eastwards to Rosny-sous-Bois. The 6 new stations, including the new terminus in Seine-Saint-Denis, should welcome their first passengers "early June" 2024.

The RATP network continues to expand in Greater Paris. After the extension of line 12 to the north and line 4 to the south, and with the extension of line 14 to Orly still to come, all eyes are now on line 11. At present, this line - the shortest in the network - runs between Châtelet and Porte des Lilas, and has just 13 stations. But in a few weeks' time, 6 new stations will be added to line 11. The line is to be extended 6km to the east of Paris, to Rosny-sous-Bois in Seine-Saint-Denis.

And the introduction of the new trains seems to be on track. The first tests were carried out on October 5, 2022. This was an opportunity to check the solidity of the viaduct that will house the overhead trains. In the middle of this 600-meter-long viaduct is the future Coteaux-Beauclair overhead station, which will serve the Domus shopping center and the Parc des Guillaumes.

But when can passengers expect to see these new stations? When will the inauguration of the line 11 extension take place? No official date has yet been announced. But according to Élodie Hanen, Deputy Director General of Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM), it will be " early June " 2024. She announced this at a press briefing on April 10.

In the meantime, work continues on the connection to the extension, followed by the famous"white run", i.e. the movement of trains without passengers. This"white run" was due to start on April 29. As a result, further traffic disruptions are expected on line 11 in the coming weeks.
