Further disruption to public transport in Paris. Line 6 users will have to adapt to new modernization work. The famous green metro line will be completely closed three evenings a week, for just over 12 weeks, starting February 5, 2024. We tell you all about it.

As work continues on the Grand Paris Express project in the Paris region, including the extension of line 14, several Paris metro lines are experiencing disruption due to modernization work. This is particularly true of line 6. Traffic will once again be disrupted on this famous Paris metro line, which links Charles de Gaulle - Etoile to Nation via Trocadéro, Montparnasse and Place d'Italie.

In concrete terms, line 6 will be completely closed in the evenings from February 5 to May 1 inclusive, i.e. for just over 12 weeks. There will be no metro service on this line on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10:00 p.m. for the duration of the work. However, RATP specifies that this total closure of line 6 in the evening will not affect the following dates: Monday February 12 and Tuesday February 13, Tuesday March 5, Monday March 25 and Tuesday March 26 and Wednesday March 27, then Wednesday April 10, 2024.

The Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens explains that this new interruption to traffic on line 6 is to enable"the modification of railway signalling installations in the areas of Place d'Italie, Trocadéro, Italie and Nation stations", as well as"online testing of the new train control system".

In detail, these replacement buses will stop and depart at Charles de Gaulle - Etoile (departing from 2 avenue Kléber), Kléber, Boissière, Trocadéro, Passy, Bir-Hakeim, Duplex and La Motte-Picquet - Grenelle (departing from 131 boulevard de Grenelle), then at Daumesnil (departing from 54 boulevard de Reuilly), Bel-Air, Picpus and Nation (departing from avenue du Trône/Place de la Nation). Find the exact locations of these replacement buses on the RATP website.
