In December, alongside associations and organizations across France, JeVeuxAider.gouv.fr, the public platform for volunteering, will be highlighting volunteer actions that promote social cohesion.
In France, 2 million elderly people no longer have any contact with their loved ones*, and around 330,000 people live on the streets or in emergency accommodation**, so the holiday season is for some a time of great loneliness and psychological distress.
That's why the December Together campaign is so essential. Discover the campaign!
How can I get involved as a volunteer?
Nothing could be simpler: go to JeVeuxAider.gouv.fr, choose the mission that's right for you, as close to home as possible or from a distance, for as long as you like, and take concrete action to shine a light on the most invisible and to share the spirit and warmth of Christmas with those who aren't fortunate enough to be surrounded!
That's the strength of JeVeuxAider.gouv.fr: to enable massive mobilization across the country, where and when it's needed.
In addition to encouraging the mobilization of volunteers across the country, the December Together campaign will feature :
Missions to suit all tastes and desires: What's it like to volunteer with Décembre Ensemble? We put the question to Hélène, a hospital volunteer with the association Tout le monde contre le cancer, who tells us: "I found this experience unique because of the richness of the exchanges with the patients, their always smiling welcome, and the kindness and professionalism of all the staff at the center where we worked...".
In concrete terms, the December Together volunteer missions can be : Close to home and even at a distance, each and every one of us can keep the social fabric alive. #DecemberTogether
